Christine Tassan

Christine Tassan et les Imposteures: Wednesday, September 24, 2025:

With over twenty years of bringing their special blend of Gypsy jazz and revisited cover songs to audiences, Christine Tassan et les Imposteures have made a name for themselves on the music scene. Pioneers in a domain usually reserved for men and precursors of the gypsy wave that swept across Québec, this quartet led by guitarist Christine Tassan continues to reinvent this timeless music while integrating new ideas and influences with an originality and flair we have become familiar with. From standards to original compositions, the Imposteures’ musical arrangements innovate, rejuvenate and leave room for unbridled creativity from four talented and accomplished musicians.

Shaun and Jamie from the Lucky Valentines

The Lucky Valentines: Saturday, October 25, 2025:

The Lucky Valentines have written upward of eighty songs, and use a mix of folk melodic sensibilities, tight harmonies, and a whole lotta love to make sad things beautiful. Their sound could be bottled up as ‘Bruce Springsteen and Patty Griffin meet Shovels and Rope in a Gypsy Junkshop’. He sometimes uses a thirdhand suitcase as a kick drum, and the rotary phone from her father’s shop as a mic. She blends classical violin with raging folk passion. He channels John Prine and Hank Williams. The married couple have played hundreds of live shows together and have been featured on MTPR’s Musician Spotlight, at Austin’s Iconic Hole in the Wall Cafe, the street dance and side stage of Red Ants Pants Music Festival and were featured on the May 2022 episode of MTPBS’s award winning 11th and Grant with Erik Funk.

The McDades, Saturday, March 7, 2026:

Punching through the walls of tradition, The McDades’ Celtic-rooted music fuses the spontaneity of jazz improvisation and infectious global rhythms. The Juno Award winners’ cutting-edge sound is the perfect complement to their fiery performances.  At the heart of the group are siblings Shannon, Solin and Jeremiah who grew up playing Canadian folk music alongside their parents and among artists from around the world, a unique upbringing that led to love and respect for all music. Their ground-breaking compositions and innovative arrangements are characterized by stunning virtuosity and a near-telepathic interaction on stage.  With vocal harmonies that can only come from a family, and an obvious love for each other and their music, The McDades’ sound is immersed in the spirit of improvisation.
